Who doesn’t like peanut butter, except for those who are allergic to it? It’s delicious and you can even eat it on its own! 😀
Now here’s one more thing you can do with peanut butter instead of just spreading it on bread. It’s Peanut Butter Balls, as seen on I.M. Mag, March 2012 issue.
These balls would be a hit with the kids during Christmas or birthday parties and those with sweet tooth will find peanut butter balls very much to their liking. So, next time put aside the lollipops and make yourself peanut butter balls. It’ll be more exciting to serve something that you made by yourself right?
So grab your shopping bags and get these ingredients:
1. A cup of butter.
I don’t know how much it cost because it’s already in the fridge. It probably cost around RM 7.00. You can use any brand you like, just keep it under room temperature before you mix with all the other ingredients.
2. One chocolate brick (RM 3.6O, Wholesale, Tanjung Aru).
I chose chocolate chips because I like the way it looks. ;p
3. 12 ounces of peanut butter (RM 13.30, Wholesale, Tanjung Aru).
I picked the crunchy type because I like the texture.
4. A teaspoon of vanilla flavouring (RM 2.00, Wholesale, Tanjung Aru).
5. One box of confectioner’s sugar.
I don’t know how much it cost, cause it’s already on the shelf. I guess it’s around RM 2.00 – RM 3.00 for a kilo.
Preparing is easy. Just follow these steps.
Step 1: Mix all ingredients together. I added the butter after I mixed all the other ingredients. You should add the butter bit by bit, you don’t want your balls to taste buttery. Things would be easier if you have a mixer.
Step 2: Roll the into balls. I rolled the mixture using two spoons. Don’t want to get my hands dirty. I put skewers so it would be easier to dip into the melted chocolate. Place them on cooking sheets but I don’t have any! -_- After you’re done, freeze them for an hour.
Step 4: Dip balls into the mixture and let it cool.
So there’ you have it. Peanut Butter Balls! If you don’t want to use skewers, you can always use small cupcake paper cups. Happy trying! 😀
